Our Vision

Our Vision goes beyond the building of a new homeless shelter; it stretches into areas outside our immediate community. By Faith, Hope & Love together we can carry out our mission to serve those in need.

This is a State and Federal wide project; it will take a team of dedicated, and caring individuals, churches, organizations/business, and government offices to accomplish this great task.

WINGS emergency shelter will house approximately 200 - 400 men and women each NIGHT. Through our extreme summer and winter months 200 - 400 each DAY. It is our intention to keep our Homeless safe, secure and off the streets during these months.

During their daytime stay they will be asked to visit with one of our counselors, to determine which of the existing facilities are qualified in meeting their specific needs. Upon availability, and their desire, they will be transported to that specific facility.

Once our community has accomplished the beginnings of this great task, we pray other community's will follow our example. Let us be leaders, as well as outstanding models for those in need. Let us take the lead in giving "Our Homeless" the hope and help they deserve. Strong community's make for a stronger nation.

Together, let us ask God for the strength, courage and wisdom for all involved in this awesome project.

More is needed then is currently being done. The problem of homelessness has existed since ancient times, and yet it still continues to exist. We may not be able to cure the epidemic of homelessness, but we can try to rectify, or alleviate, as much of the problem as we possibly can.

More empathy for the Homeless is needed. It is time for us to become empathetic to the plight of the homeless, and realize that they cannot go it alone. They need their community to stand up and take notice of them and their situation. They are crying for HELP, but have lost hope in ever receiving the help they truly need.

We can give them back the Hope they truly desire. Our community's help is needed. In order to give our Homeless what they really need several things are required. They are:

It's a choice we have to make. It takes time to bring about an operation of this kind. We know it is possible, we have seen it through the few shelters that currently exist in our valley. It has taken them many years to reach these vast accomplishments, but we have an advantage, they have already paved the way.

Please, let us take the first step. As we ponder whether or not we will take this step, another homeless person is dying from neglect. On the other hand, if we decide we will do something, we will gain a sense of purpose and peace of mind.

If you would like to take that step now, please contact WINGS, or any number of the many organizations that are reaching out to those in need.

Dear God, "Help us to be messengers of peace, and to bring the good news of your son, Jesus, to all the world.
May our witness to the Gospel message of peace and hope plant seeds of love in peoples hearts, and bring about real and lasting change in our world.
Lord send your spirit upon us, and give us courage as we continue to share our faith with others that one day all will be one in you. Amen!"
